To GDC at Garroulds. Postmarked - Wickham Market - August 1st 1870

Laxfield
Monday

My dear George
Just a line to tell you Father wrote to Mr. Garrould last week to ask him for a holiday for you , but we have had no reply yet. You must write so we can send you some money to come down with when you know. Ellen went to school this day week and Cousin Anna Maria came back with me. I hope we shall get on but she don't know much.
Father had his oats cut on Saturday & today they have been turning them. I expect they will be in full harvest on Friday. We are reckoning very much on seeing you again. Uncle Harry is gone & it seems no one know where but its all very well. Uncle Charles have left and live at the Shipmeadow low Farm house, suppose he will soon marry Miss Parrinton. Cannot write any more now so with all our kindest love I am ever
your affecte. Mama
Thursday we shall be at Mr. F. Reads at a party. Little Nunn says Mama tell George to make haste home so I can see him & he will spin my top.
Goodbye my dear boy
