To GDC at Garroulds. Postmarked - Saxmundham - June 26th 1871

Sibton
June 23rd

Dear Friend
I should have wrote to you before but thought I would get settled well first. I have a gun when I please, we have two ones just my size. I like farming very much, I do but very little work, go to market once or twice a week and to the sales at Saxmundham. We have just sold our yard of fat bullocks, 16 in number, they fetched about 21£ to 23£10s per hd, we have 140 lambs.
Please write and tell me how you get on.
I remain
Yours truly
C. Ives
